External Relations Lead

About The Role
We are seeking an External Relations Lead to help develop and execute 44.01’s external relations strategy in Oman and the UAE. 

The External Relations Lead will help manage our relationships with regional media outlets, develop and execute communications strategies, help manage 44.01’s social media presence, and work closely with our policy and community engagement teams. 

The successful candidate will act as an external representative for 44.01 with various external stakeholders, including media, government, NGOs, community leaders and partners.

This role is based in Oman or the UAE and the successful candidate should expect to travel regularly between the two countries. The role will report to the Head of External Relations.
What You'll Do
  • Help develop and execute 44.01’s Oman/UAE communications strategy.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders including media, government, community members, NGOs and other partners.
  • Represent 44.01 externally at events and conferences. 
  • Help manage 44.01’s social media accounts.
  • Work with the media around significant announcements.
  • Monitor and analyse traditional and social media for issues that affect 44.01.
  • Travel regionally, including regular visits to Oman/UAE. 

 

Who You Are
  • Experience working in communications and/or government relations in Oman or the UAE. 
  • Fluency in English and Arabic.
  • Ability to produce excellent English and Arabic written communications for internal and external audiences.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships quickly.
  • Experience working with local communities (advantageous).
  • Experience handling external relations for technology or industry (advantageous).
  • Understanding of CCS and the global carbon market (advantageous).
